What is happening to TV apps lately? A lot actually. To stay focused, let’s group the most interesting trends in TV industry into these four groups:

  1. Better Looks

TV producers do their best to increase the quality of the TV picture: improve mobile looks, increase resolution from 1080p to 4K, make videos in HDR and wide colour, and improve LCD in general.

  1. Better Devices

While curved TVs are not news anymore, Samsung and LG are currently competing for buyers’ attention with new buzz. Samsung’s invented see-through mirrored TV that can lead to new era of commercials. Meanwhile, LG is targeting end users with a flexible super-thin TV that can be sticked to a wall as a magnet or wallpaper.

  1. Better Accessibility

Internet of Things is the ruling the world this is the fact. Internet of TV is no difference. It’s getting harder and harder every day to find a device or a thing that CANNOT translate TV. Mobile phones, tablets, laptops these are already “classic” devices. How about refrigerators, walls, cars (including cargo tracks)? What’s next I wander.

  1. Better Functionality

TV industry started as entertainment, but in 2015 it far exceeds this function. We use TV apps for security reasons, as advertising platforms, for better customer care, to shop, even to spy on you. Today it seems that TV watches us more then we watch it.
